Can you believe we are already at the end of our first half term in school?!
The children have had an amazing start to school and we are so proud of how well they’ve settled into Pool House! The children have already learnt so much this half term, getting to know our routines, making new friends and lots of exciting learning taking place.
To finish off our final week, we have been reading the story ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. Lots of our activities and provision has been themed around this story this week. The children have enjoyed making their own potions, listening to and acting out the story, sequencing the key events and practicing our counting to 10 by counting out spiders. We have made wands to cast spells, used lots of ingredients to make magic potions, created spooky ghost pictures, been on a sound hunt in phonics and measured how long the witches’ brooms are.
Wednesday was our Harvest Assembly, where the children performed a song to the rest of the school. Sunshine did an amazing job and we are so proud of their singing and actions to match.
We hope everyone has a wonderful half term and gets a well-deserved rest after a busy first half term at school. Don’t forget that we have inset days on the first week back after half term so our first day back will be Thursday 6th November.
We can’t wait to see you then!
