This week in Rainbow class we have been revising what we have already learnt so far this year.

In maths the children have recapped the four operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We have revised the written methods that we have learnt in year 2 and applied these skills to solving word problems too.

In English we have looked at a story called ‘The Disgusting Sandwich’ by Gareth Edwards and then designed our own disgusting sandwich.

“In my sandwich was smelly, stinky spiders.” – Sophia.

“I put blood as red as a rose in my sandwich.” – Jack

“In my sandwich were bricks as hard as a house.” – Nevaeh.

We have been learning about how to write expanded noun phrases using adjectives and similes.

In PE we have learnt how to play bench ball after spending the half term learning about ball skills including different ways to throw and catch. The children worked really well in mixed ability teams and helped each other.

Star of the week this week is Nevaeh and our merit certificate winners are Sophia and Jehanna. Well done!

There are no spellings or homework for over the holidays. Each child who brought their book into school today has been given 2 books to read over the holidays.

Have a lovely half term break and well done for working so hard over this half term everyone!
