New year… New fun
Welcome back and Happy New Year! What a fun packed four days we have had.
On Tuesday we did a big recap of all our phonics sounds and everybody read their reading books. Then we revisited our numbers to 10; counting, recognising and forming them. During the afternoon we wrote all our New Years Resolutions. We ended the day with a story and singing some songs.
Today we spent lots of time segmenting and blending sounds together to make words. We had a close look at our teen numbers and looked for patterns. Everybody read to their key worker. During the afternoon we talked about people we wanted to say thank you to for a lovely time during the Christmas holidays. We started to make our thank you cards to take home on Friday.
Again we looked at making words by segmenting and blending sounds and putting them in the correct order. We formed our teen numbers and counted carefully and drew the dots to match the number to its value. AFC Fylde came for our weekly football session which was fabulous. During the afternoon we completed our thank you cards and had our grand opening of the Sunshine Super Salon. The children loved this and have been very excited to play in here.
Our day began with certificates in assembly. Well done to Teddie our kind friend and our merit winners Arthur and Thomas. Lillie was our star of the week.
After assembly we went straight into continuous provision, all children read and we sang some songs. After lunch we had phonics and sang some songs.
