We have had a wonderfully busy and fun couple of weeks in Moonbeam class, so much so, we forgot to blog last week!

Leading up to the end of term, we have explored rhyming words and sentences as well as performing rhyming poems, looked at our two times table, multiplications and fractions. In phonics we have concentrated on segmenting and blending our words for nonsense and real words, as it is very important we apply our sounds to our reading.

On Wednesday we had our Talent Show and three of our class members were extremely brave and performed in front of lots of people. Well done Toby and Lucy for your marvelous morris dancing and to Iyla-Rose for her super singing as part of a girl group. On Thursday we had our Easter assembly and all of the children sang beautifully.

This week we have enjoyed all things Easter! We have learnt about the Easter story, made corn flake cakes, made Easter cards and enjoyed an Easter egg hunt. We finished off our Friday by having a parade of all the wonderful baskets the children made for their homework. Please look at our gallery for photos to see the things we have been up to.

Our star of the week this week is Damian.

Our merit certificates this week have been awarded to Aaron for always considering others, being kind a good friend to all, and to Scarlett for consistently producing outstanding pieces of homework and to a high standard.

Lloyd's football certificate this week was awarded to Bree-Anna.

We have also awarded certificates in class, along with prizes to the children that have completed all 6 or 5 pieces of their homework tasks this term, along with prizes. Please see the pictures for the pictures from our class celebration.

On Thursday I sent home a phonics pack full of activities for the children to do over the holidays.  They aren’t expected to complete them all but by all means do! It’s a way of ensuring they keep up their phonics application whilst off School for two weeks. We have also sent home two reading books for the children to enjoy and keep them busy. Please see the links below for all of the links to the websites.

The children have worked incredibly hard this term and I thank you for all of your support. Whether it be reading with your child every night, supporting our events and fundraising days, or helping your child to complete all of their homework tasks.

From all of the moonbeam team, we hope you have a lovely Easter holiday. We will see you back on Tuesday 23rd April.
