We started off our week by developing our gymnastics skills in P.E and moved in the way of different animals. We recapped doubling of numbers in Maths and discussed why we have rules and why they are important.

“We have rules in School so we don’t hurt ourselves in School.  If we run in the corridors, we could get carpet burns on our knees and that would be sad.” – Toby.

“We have to follow instructions and listen so we know what we have to do.” – Ines.

“We can’t go to a shop and not pay because that wouldn’t be fair on the shopkeeper. He wouldn’t have any money and it’s not right to steal.” – Lucy.

Throughout the rest of the week we have explored how seeds reproduce in Science, planned a weather forecast in Geography, identified odd and even numbers and continued to look for clues as to why elephants have big ears in our English lessons. Some children have found the answer in the books in our reading corner and are ready to present their information next week, to the rest of the class.

In Phonics this week we have all worked really hard on applying our digraphs to our reading of words and remembering that when certain letters are stuck together, they make one sound in some words. Please make sure your child is reading frequently at home as it is so vital that they are able to apply their knowledge to their reading.

On Friday it was Red Nose Day for Comic Relief. Thank you to everyone for taking part in wearing something red and for the donations.

Our merit certificates this week went to Leyton for showing perseverance in his independent writing and the second merit certificate was awarded to Filza, who is conscientious and committed to everything she does in Moonbeam class.

Our star of the week award went to Mya.

Lloyd’s football certificate went to Elle.

Well done everyone!
